Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup beef stock
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef stock, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add the remaining oil to the same pan. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  • Return the beef to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce. Stir well to coat the beef and broccoli evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, marinate the beef slices in 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • You can adjust the sauce sweetness by modifying the amount of brown sugar.
