Recreate the famous Cracker Barrel Meatloaf at home with this easy recipe. Juicy, flavorful, and perfect for a comforting family dinner.

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • ½ cup green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard (for glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onion, bell pepper, crackers, eggs, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  • In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard for the glaze. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh breadcrumbs as a substitute for Ritz crackers if preferred.
  • You can add more vegetables like shredded carrots for added nutrition.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
