Ingredients
Scale
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
½ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For a festive touch, add sprinkles or colored sugar on top before baking.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it's too sticky to handle.
