  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thick and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for easier handling.
  • Use mini chocolate chips for a more even chocolate distribution.
