1/2 cup warm water (110°F)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add sugar, evaporated milk, salt, melted butter, egg, flour, and vanilla. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead for about 5-7 minutes, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donut shapes. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
Heat oil to 350°F and fry donuts for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Mix glaze ingredients until smooth, then dip warm donuts into glaze. Let set on a wire rack.
