Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs thinly sliced ribeye steak or any tender beef cut
  • 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 8-10 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider buns
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Transfer to a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the beef is browned and tender, about 5-6 minutes. Return the sautéed onions and peppers to the skillet and combine. Remove from heat.
  • Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish. Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly over the buns. Layer the provolone cheese over the beef mixture.
  • Place the top halves of the slider buns on top. Brush the melted butter over the buns and sprinkle with dried Italian seasoning and sesame seeds, if using.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • To make slicing the beef easier, partially freeze it for about 30 minutes before cutting.
  • You can use any cheese you prefer, such as mozzarella or cheddar, for a different flavor.
  • For a spicy twist, add sliced jalapeños or a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
