This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf recipe combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with the comfort of a homemade meatloaf.   • 1 ยฝ lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ยฝ cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sautรฉ the diced onions and bell peppers until softened. Set aside to cool.
  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir in the cooled onions and peppers, and half of the shredded cheese.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160ยฐF (71ยฐC).
  • Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, use pepper jack cheese or add red pepper flakes.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
