  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk; let it soak for 5 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef, pork, egg, onion, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape into small meatballs.
  4. In a large skillet, melt butter and cook meatballs until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet.
  5. In the same skillet, add flour to make a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles.
